Job Summary

Applications are invited from the suitable qualified Ugandans to fill the under listed vacant posts that exist in Kalaki District Local Government. Application forms (PSC Form 3, revised 2008) to be completed in triplicate (Original handwriting) and the forms are obtainable from all Secretaries District Service Commission countrywide or Secretary Public Service Commission (PSC). Serving Officers must route their applications through their heads of departments who should be informed of the closing date to avoid delay. Only Certified photocopies of Academic Certificates, Transcripts, National Identity card and other relevant documents as well as 3 recent passport size photographs and day time telephone contact should accompany each application form.
Application should be submitted in triplicate to the Office of Chief Administrative Officer Kalaki, P. O. Box 722, Soroti not later than 6th March 2020.
Late applications will not be considered and only successful applicants will be contacted
Job purpose:
To promote the social welfare and safety of the workers in the district/Urban Council
Qualifications:
An honors degree in Social Sciences, Social work and Social Administration, Developmental Studies, Human Resource Management from a recognized University/Institution.

Responsibilities

i. Inspecting work places in order to make them conform to national policies and standards on occupational health and safety;
ii. Settling labour complaints between employers and employees;
iii. Monitoring the implementation of labour policy and legislation;
iv. Sensitizing the public on labour policy and legislation;
v. Giving technical advice to both employers and employees on employer/ employee relations, disputes resolution and collective bargaining;
vi. Handling workmen’s compensation cases;
vii. Prosecuting before courts of law those who do not abide by the existing labour laws;
viii. Advising council on labour related matters; and
ix. Accounting for the departmental funds.

Job Requirements

Required education: Bachelor's degree
Required relevant work experience: 2 years
Required languages: English (Spoken: fluent | Written: fluent)
