Job application procedure
Applications are invited from the suitably qualified Ugandans for the posts available in Katakwi District Local Government. The applications must be submitted in triplicate on PSF NO.3 (2008) to the Office of Principal Human Resource Officer, District Service Commission and PO BOX 74 Katakwi, to be received not later than Monday 6th April, 2020 at 5.00 PM
The Applications are Obtainable free of charge from any District Service Commission Offices countrywide or Public Service Commission Offices, 2nd floor Farmers' House, Parliament Avenue Kampala.
Application forms should bear titles as well as the Reference numbers specified against the vacancy and the telephone contact. Applicants should attach certified copies of their o Level & A ‘Level, Certificates, Diploma, Degree, Postgraduate and Masters transcripts & Certificates, CV and recent passport size photograph to each form. Qualifications from the recognized Awarding Institutions shall only be considered.

Job Purpose
To coordinate, monitor and provide technical support in the implementation of procurement and disposal of assets function for an Entity to ensure value for money.


  • To coordinate, monitor and assess implementation of procurement and disposal of assets policies, plans and guidelines, and make appropriate recommendations:
  • To develop appropriate internal procurement and disposal of Public assets controls and procedure consistent with the legal and regulatory framework;
  • To process and maintain data on Contracts Committees;
  • To prepare bids for high value and specialized procurements and disposals, and participate in evaluation process;
  • To prepare, administer and issue approved contracts;
  • To liaise with suppliers and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of goods and services;
  • To follow up with user departments to provide information required for the procurement plans;
  • To prepare Statement of Requirements (Bill of Quantities);
  • To prepare contract performance status reports;
  • To monitor, inspect and establish progress on contract implementation;
  • To design and coordinate training activity plans for the Procurement Unit;
  • To supervise, mentor, coach and evaluate performance of subordinate staff; and
  • To consolidate and maintain a procurement plan for the Entity

Job Requirements

Required education: Bachelor's degree
Required relevant work experience: 3 years
Required languages: English (Spoken: fluent | Written: fluent)
