Job Summary

The Study Lab Technologist will participate in HIV related research and provide technical support to research teams in the set up of Laboratory experiments, analysis of sample/data and recording of applied processes and procedures to meet clinical research objectives. S/he will be reporting to the Site Coordinator or the Medical Coordinator and should be ready to carry out other duties as delegated by the Site Coordinator.
Terms of Employment:
Contract for one year, as per KEMRI Scheme of Service. The successful candidate shall undergo a three (3) months probationary period for the first three months upon initiation of employment. Required Qualifications:

  1. Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences
  2. Registered with the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologist Board
  3. Knowledge and understanding of GCLPs and regulatory/accreditation agency requirements
  4. Knowledge of laboratory Health and Safety practices
  5. At least 2 years of experience
  6. Computer Literacy
  7. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  8. Ready to work under pressure
  9. Team working and ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
