Requirements for Appointment
i. Must have served in comparable and relevant position in the public service for a minimum period of three (3) years;
ii. Bachelor’s degree in any of the social sciences from a university recognized in Kenya Be a holder of a degree in any of the following Disciplines Cultural Studies, Anthropology, Sociology, History, Philosophy, Archaeology, Creative Arts, Theatre Arts, Music, Fine Art, Kiswahili and literary studies, Political Science, Psychology, Indigenous language or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
iii. Certificate in computer applications; and iv. Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

Duties and responsibilities
i. Identifies cultural projects/programs/groups/creative talents and the main cultural problems and priorities in the sub-county;
ii. Co-ordinates cultural promotion projects/programs and strategies as well as income generating cultural activities in the sub-county;
iii. Promote inter-sub county and inter-ethnic cultural cooperation for mutual respect and enrichment of our cultural identity and national unity;
iv. Monitor and evaluate cultural programs and prepare regular reports;
v. Overseeing preparation of cultural groups for participation during county, national and international functions and events;
vi. Recommend persons from the sub-county for awards and honours as County Heroes and Heroines in the cultural sector;
vii. Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned from time to time.
viii. Officer shall cooperate with Government and Non-Governmental organizations in the execution of the above duties and responsibilities;
