Job Summary

The Central Depository & Settlement Corporation Limited (CDSC) is a limited liability Companyapproved by the Capital Markets Authority to provide automated clearing, delivery and settlementfacilities in respect of transactions carried out at Nairobi Securities Exchange as well as holding oflisted and non-listed securities including other documents of title on behalf of investors.
  • At least a bachelor’s degree in Information technology.
  • At least 3-5years experience in a similar role.
  • Professional certifications in Microsoft, CISCO, VMware or similar reputable certifications.
  • Excellent knowledge of Windows 10, Microsoft server and Linux operating systems inaddition to Vmware and Veeam administration.
  • Experience in Windows AD, File server and DNS administration as well as basic MSSQLknowledge.
  • Experience in Firewall administration, Antivirus and web security administration as well as afirm grasp of Information Security concepts.
  • Experience in day-to-day management of private cloud, Wide area networks and VPNs.
  • Experience in management of vendors and solution providers.
  • Experience in mission critical data center operations.
  • Relevant computer skills proficiency.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good planning, organizational and analytical skills.
  • Good problem diagnosis and solving skills.
  • A very high degree of confidentiality and attention to detail.


1. Schedule and perform system backups and recovery procedures.
2. Plan for and respond to systems outages and other related problems.
3. Maintain major multiuser computer systems via adding and configuring new workstations,setting up and administering user accounts, installing system wide software,prevent/detect/correct spread of viruses, allocate mass storage.
4. Analyze application and system performance and ensure that end-users are provided withnecessary support.
5. Map requirements to existing solutions and identify gaps; provide management with necessaryfeedback and recommend solutions to address critical gaps.
6. Monitor system resources including server and end user PC CPU usage and ensure there aresufficient computer resources to support CDSC’s needs and requirements. Propose and followthrough suggestions on new systems and improvements.
7. Ensure compliance in creation and administration of users in the ICT systems.
8. Provide end-user technical support.
1. Configure, manage and administer the Wide Area Network (WAN) setup and Local AreaNetwork (LAN) setup.
2. Manage network directory services, including configuration of user identification,authentication and authorization.
3. Maintain, administer and secure network servers.
4. Maintain and administer CDSC’s network printers, ensuring access for authorised users andunavailability for unauthorised users.
5. Conducts network installations/upgrades/changes and performs necessary maintenanceactivities on the same.
6. Performs network performance, capacity monitoring and variability management
7. Advises superiors on the rate of network usage, connectivity speed and upgrade requirementsand technical/security threats, and provides recommendations on the same.
8. Provide help desk and end user support across all functions, including applications, security,hardware and networks. This includes troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
1. Conduct hardware checks to ensure optimal performance and notify relevant stakeholders ofany issues.
2. Schedule and implement regular preventive maintenance on hardware such as networkprinters, end user terminals, network components and servers.
