Job Summary

Abt Associates seeks a qualified Access to Finance Coordinator for USAID/Uganda’s Integrated Community, Agriculture, and Nutrition (ICAN) Activity, which will aim to sustainably enhance the resilience of vulnerable households by increasing economic opportunities for poor households, improving nutrition with a focus on women and children, and strengthening community and local governance. The position will be based in Kampala, Uganda. We are looking for individuals who are committed to exceeding expectations and who strive to improve the lives of people worldwide.


Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Sub-Purpose 1 Lead – Economic Opportunities, the Access to Finance Coordinator is responsible for developing and overseeing interventions that will increase households’ access to finance. This may include, but is not limited to the following:

  1. Design and oversee implementation of interventions to improve village savings and loan associations’ (VSLA) capacity to obtain and manage financing.
  2. Work with financial institutions to develop and/or expand farm-friendly and youth-friendly financial products.
  3. Support technical staff in each sub-region by assisting in the development of locally tailored activities and training project staff.
  4. Other duties as required
