Job Summary

Abt Associates seeks a qualified Social Inclusion Lead for USAID/Uganda’s Integrated Community, Agriculture, and Nutrition (ICAN) Activity, which will aim to sustainably enhance the resilience of vulnerable households by increasing economic opportunities for poor households, improving nutrition with a focus on women and children, and strengthening community and local governance. The position will be based in Kampala, Uganda. We are looking for individuals who are committed to exceeding expectations and who strive to improve the lives of people worldwide.


Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Deputy Chief of Party, the Social Inclusion Lead is responsible for ensuring all ICAN interventions are inclusive of women, youth, and persons with disabilities or who experience other social exclusion. These duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

  1. Lead the development of the Gender, Youth, and Social Inclusion (GYSI) Analysis and implementation plan.
  2. Participate in annual work planning to ensure incorporation of GYSI considerations into all activities. With Sub-Purpose Leads, ensure all interventions are inclusive, considering the needs of women, youth, and persons with disabilities.
  3. Provide ongoing support to technical staff in each sub-region, including by assisting in the development of activities that consider the unique needs of women and men, girls and boys, and those who experience social exclusion.
  4. Other duties as required.
