Requirements for Direct Appointment

For appointment to this position, a candidate must:

  • Have Bachelor’s degree in law from a recognized university;
  • Have Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice; and
  • Be an advocate of the High Court of Kenya with a current practicing certificate.

Requirements for Serving Officers

For appointment to this position, an officer must: -

  • Have Bachelor’s degree in law from a recognized university.
  • Have at least three (3) years experience as a Legal Assistant II Seale 7/8 or its equivalent; and
  • Have shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance.


Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the following positions. Interested applicants should forward ten (10) copies of application package, including updated Curriculum

Vitae giving details of the applicant's age, marital status, academic and professional qualifications, working experience, present post and salary, telephone contact and email address, names and addresses of three (3) referees plus copies of certificates, transcripts and testimonials. An officer at this level will be responsible for:

  • Drafting of legal documents and handling cases involving the University in liaison with University external lawyers;
  • Advising the University on all legal matters;
  • Writing reports and memoranda; and
  • Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
