  • Proven experience in landscaping construction and maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of plant species, horticultural techniques, and landscaping principles.
  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to plan, organise, and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in landscape design software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Continuous improvement attitude.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings/specifications.
  • Work within the project framework and adhere to all Company guidelines and policies.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.


Responsibilities

Construction Oversight:

  • Supervise the implementation of landscaping projects during the construction phase, ensuring adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to manage project timelines and budgets.
  • Conduct site inspections to monitor progress and address any issues that may arise.

Procurement and Selection of Plants:

  • Source and procure high-quality plants, trees, shrubs, and other landscaping materials from reputable suppliers.
  • Select plant species and varieties based on aesthetic considerations, climate suitability, and maintenance requirements.
  • Ensure selected plants are healthy, disease-resistant, and suitable for the local environment.

Planting and Installation:

  • Direct the planting and installation of vegetation, hardscape features, irrigation systems, and other landscaping elements.
  • Ensure proper soil preparation, drainage, and irrigation to promote plant health and growth.
  • Implement sustainable landscaping practices, such as xeriscaping and water-efficient irrigation techniques.

Maintenance and Care:

  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules for ongoing care of landscaping features.
  • Oversee pruning, fertilisation, pest control, and other routine maintenance tasks.
  • Monitor plant health and address any issues, such as disease or nutrient deficiencies, in a timely manner.

Team Management:

  • Recruit, train, and supervise a team of gardeners, landscapers, and maintenance staff.
  • Delegate tasks effectively and provide guidance and support to ensure high-quality workmanship.
  • Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, professionalism, and accountability.
