To increase guest satisfaction by providing efficient, prompt, trouble free and courteous food and beverage service and experience to guests in the restaurant in line with departmental and hotel guidelines, and corporate guidelines and service concepts. The waiter/waitress is responsible for taking orders and serving food and beverages to guests. They play an important role in guest satisfaction as they are also responsible for checking on customers to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.


Responsibilities
To increase guest satisfaction by providing efficient, prompt, trouble free and courteous food and beverage service and experience to guests in the restaurant in line with departmental and hotel guidelines, and corporate guidelines and service concepts. The waiter/waitress is responsible for taking orders and serving food and beverages to guests. They play an important role in guest satisfaction as they are also responsible for checking on customers to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.


TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
PROVIDE EFFICIENT, PROMPT, TROUBLEFREE, AND COURTEOUS SERVICE

• Provides efficient, prompt, trouble free, and courteous service by bussing, serving and setting tables

• Accurately records, pre-checks, and picks up all food and beverage orders promptly

• Serves guests their food and beverage promptly and courteously

• Sets tables as needed prior to guest arrival

• Ensures that the working area and stations are stocked with mise-en-place and kept clean and tidy at all times

• Ensures the smooth running of the assigned station at all times

• Maintains a thorough working knowledge of food and beverage menus, to be able to advise guests on selection and promote additional sales accordingly

• Promotes additional sales by taking opportunities to up-sell, in a manner that is professional and courteous

• Makes clear orders to kitchen production, and baristas regarding beverages; registers orders according to Level 24 procedures

• Confers with the Restaurant Supervisor concerning reservations and last minute changes

• Confers with the Floor Supervisor regarding last minute arrangements to co-ordinate with kitchen production

• Checks the restaurant reservations list frequently during the shift

SECURITY, HEALTH AND SAFETY

• Ensures that restaurant cash sales and cash float are secure at all times

• Ensures all discrepancies in cash sales and or cash float are declared to the Restaurant Supervisor immediately.

• Maintains high confidentiality in regards to guest privacy

• Notifies the Floor Supervisor regarding lost and found objects

• Reports all potential and real hazards appropriately

• Fully understands the Level 24 fire, emergency, and evacuation procedures

• Follows emergency procedures to provide for the security and safety of guests and employees

• Works in a safe manner that does not harm or injure self or others

• Supports a safe working environment by applying all Level 24 regulations, and adhering to existing laws and regulations

• Anticipates possible and probable hazards and conditions and notifies the Restaurant Supervisor

• Maintains the highest standards of personal hygiene, dress, uniform, appearance, body language and conduct

MISCELLANEOUS

• Refers guests to Restaurant Supervisor, if unsure, regarding requests for information about the Level 24 Eatery and its surroundings including the Level 24 Fitness

• Stays current with activities in the restaurant by reviewing the communication log book each shift; updates log book for next shift if required to by the Restaurant Supervisor

• Assists the Restaurant Supervisor when requested

• Attends meetings and trainings required to, by the Restaurant Supervisor and Management

• Accepts flexible work schedule necessary for uninterrupted service to Level 24 guests

• Continuously seeks to endeavour professionalism in own job function

• Knows: - Level 24 fire, evacuation and emergency procedures - Level 24 health and safety policies and procedures - Level 24 facilities and nearby sights of interest and importance (i.e. hospitals, stations, tourist sights) - Level 24 Eatery and Fitness corporate marketing and promotional programs - Corporate clients and clients generating high business volume
