The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, payroll management, bank reconciliations, government statutory management, managing payables and receivables, monitoring financial transactions, maintaining digital records, preparing forecasts/budgets, bookkeeping, making financial projections, making available records for auditing, and inventory management.


Responsibilities
The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, payroll management, bank reconciliations, government statutory management, managing payables and receivables, monitoring financial transactions, maintaining digital records, preparing forecasts/budgets, bookkeeping, making financial projections, making available records for auditing, and inventory management.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Keeping accurate financial records for the company, including ledgers, journals, and financial statements

  • Payroll management, including processing employee salaries and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations

  • Performing bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records

  • Managing government statutory compliance, including filing taxes and other required reports

  • Managing accounts payable and receivable, and reconciling any discrepancies

  • Monitoring financial transactions and identifying any potential issues or opportunities for
    improvement

  • Maintaining digital records and ensuring that all financial data is properly stored and backed up

  • Preparing budgets and forecasting future financial performance

  • Bookkeeping, including recording transactions and maintaining accurate financial records

  • Making financial projections to assist management in making strategic decisions

  • Making available records for auditing

  • Inventory management, including tracking inventory levels, managing inventory costs, and identifying potential issues.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field

  • Professional accounting qualification (CPA) is a plus

  • 2-3 years of experience in accounting or a related field

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel

  • Knowledge of Kenyan tax laws and regulations

  • Experience working in a textile manufacturing company is a plus.
