Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Analyst consultant. As an Analyst Consultant, you will play a key role in working and supporting our data analysis and research efforts.

Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness Management, Statistics, or an equivalent field.

Experience/ competency:

1. At least two years of progressive experience in conducting marketing studies for various value chains with a design-centric approach.

2. Have 2 years of design experience in visually appealing and impactful reporting.

3. Possess strong data analytical skills with software such Excel, SPSS, and STATA.

4. Experience in executing field surveys utilizing design skills for data collection tools (Kobo Toolbox, ODK Collect, Survey CTO).

5. Be able to collaborate with the consulting team, applying design thinking to research, data analysis, and report creation.

6. Possess a deep understanding of local markets, oversee market studies, and support market linkages.

7. Design dashboards covering key sectors (Livestock, Horticulture, Staples, Grains) and economic data in Eastern Africa.

8. Emphasize design in curating EAMDA's written output, including reports, proposals, and concept notes.

9. Enhance visual storytelling for success stories, case studies, and impact results with advanced report writing skills.

10. Contribute design expertise to convey insights on climate change and agricultural innovations

Key
Responsibilities:

  1. Conducting marketing studies for different value chains and supporting market linkages.
  2. Timely update, validation and review of periodical results and indicator documentation and reporting; quarterly, semi-annual, and field activity reports.
  3. Planning for and undertaking field surveys, including developing and rolling out data collection tools using the Kobo toolbox and ODK collect tool and Survey CTO.
  4. Working with the consulting team on research, data analysis, as well as writing reports, proposals, concept notes and/or curating of EAMDA's written output.
  5. Developing a strong understanding of local markets, overseeing market studies for various industries, and supporting market linkages.
  6. Producing statistical and narrative reports for internal and external consumption,
    including project reports, consulting assignment reports, success stories, case studies and impact results against selected indicators.
  7. Developing and maintaining EAMDA's dashboards on the key sectors the company work
    within, such as Livestock, Horticulture, Staples, and Grains, including industry data, policies, cross-cutting issues such as climate change and agricultural innovations, as well as overall economic data across Eastern Africa region.


Duration:

This is a three-month role with an option for extension based on performance and availability of funding.
