We are seeking to recruit a highly talented individual to fill the position of COMMIS CHEF. The Commis Chef will be responsible for day-to-day oversight of food prep processes such as blanching, blending, baking etc. within the assigned Browns Food Co. kitchen.
This position will be based in Tigoni, Kiambu County

This position will be based in Tigoni, Kiambu County
Principal Accountabilities
Supervise and coordinate all activities in the kitchen including; food preparation, production and dispatch.
Ensure the consistency in the preparation of all food prep items as per the set recipes.
Ensure timely, efficient, cost-effective operation and profitability of food production.
Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food.
Liaise regularly with the Shops Retail Manager on clients’ feedback.
Keep a sanitized, clean, hygienic and orderly environment in the kitchen.
Regularly check the quality of ingredients.
Ensure strict stock management, rotation and minimum wastage. Have stock control procedures implemented and maintained. Place timely orders when there are shortages.
Train team members including the service team on our dishes.
Maintain good quality of production by following the recipe.
Actively share ideas, opinions and suggestions in during reporting, handover or as required.
Ensure compliance with the health and safety standards in the kitchen department.
Identify existing staffing needs and assist in training of new staff.
Key Skills and Qualifications
Proven experience as Commiss Chef.
Diploma/Certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making, baking or relevant field.
Great attention to detail and creativity
Organizing and leadership skills
Willingness to replenish professional knowledge
In depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation and baking techniques
