We are looking for a Director of Sales and Business Development who will work closely with our CEO to help drive the rapid scaling of the business. This role will be responsible for ensuring optimal performance across our sales channels, putting systems and processes in place to support rapid growth, and ensuring efficiency across a large and growing sales team. 

This is a senior leadership role with a dynamic compensation and reward program comprising of a base pay, commissions, profit share and stock ownership. General Information

Position:  Director of Sales and Business Development

The Director of Sales and Business Development job entails taking up duties in key areas as outlined below:

  • Strategic thinking and guidance - Set aims and objectives upon seeing the bigger picture in order to develop and improve the business.

  • Forecast sales targets and growth projections and develop plans focused on revenue growth and profitability.

  • Research and identify new business opportunities - including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products and services - or new ways of reaching existing markets.  

  • Research, plan, and implement new market development initiatives.  

  • Identify market opportunities through meetings, networking and other channels.  

  • Pursue leads and move them through the sales cycle.  

  • Develop quotes, proposals and sales presentations and participate in sales meetings.  

  • Maintain positive relationships with clients to encourage repeat and recurring business.  

  • Develop ways to improve the customer experience and build brand loyalty. 

  • Recruit, train and supervise sales and delivery, marketing, and business development teams as well as put measures for the teams to meet their KPIs.

  • Prepare reports and manage records of sales, revenue, and other important data. 


Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, management or related field.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in sales with a clear focus on the HORECA industry. 

  • Portfolio of contacts and prospects for corporate entities / bodies.

  • Familiarity with the workings of the food service and hospitality industry. 

  • Proven sales track record combined with tenacity and the drive to seek new business and meet or exceed targets.

  • Initiative and the confidence to start and build things from scratch. 

  • Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty. 

  • Demonstrate strong persuasive and negotiation skills. 

  • Demonstrates strong planning and organizing skills.

  • Demonstrates ability to think creatively and analytically.

  • High-level communication skills and MS Office fluency. 

  • Exhibits excellent interpersonal, motivational and customer service skills.

  • Possesses strong leadership and managerial skills.
