Initial set up of finance operation during the establishment of the emergency mission, train and provide guidance to local finance team, monitor of local financial activities of emergency operations overseas.

Required

  • University degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance Management or another related field
  • Intermediate or higher working level of Excel
  • Readiness to travel abroad on short notice for periods of several weeks
  • Visa – US and European visa

Preferred:

  • 3-4 years Experience
  • Experience working internationally

  • Budgeting and Planning
    • Support Heads of Mission and the HQ Emergency Operations team with the preparation of budgets for emergency missions


  • Initial Finance Support in the Field during the Set-up Phase of an Emergency Mission
    • Travel with the Emergency Operations team to the field and set up the Finance operation
    • Perform all relevant finance duties in the field until a local Finance Officer is hired including bookkeeping of all expenses and cash management
    • Provide guidance to the response team on financial matters
    • Ensure adherence by the response team to IsraAID’s best practices

 

  • Financial Control and Monitoring
    • Responsible for accurate Budget versus Actual reports from the field
    • Key person in monitoring over/ under spending in emergency budgets
    • Ensure compliance with donors’ requirements etc.
    • Prepare donor reports

 

  • Training and Guidance for local Finance teams
    • Train new Finance Officer hires in IsraAID guidelines and best practises
    • Provide ongoing support and guidance to local finance teams team members in the field of expertise

    • Support in development of streamlined templates, formal guidelines and forms for internal financial documents
