  • At least 2 years’ experience in Heathcare Underwriting department
  • Degree in Insurance or relevant field.
  • Progress in insurance professional course (AIIK or ACII) will be an added advantage

  1. Ensure accurate setting up and managing of membership details in Hais within set TAT’s
  2. Ensure accurate and timely system entry/capture of medical benefits purchased and regular maintenance and update
  3. Ensure correct, prompt debiting and dispatch of premium invoices and the renewal/commencement premium schedules to the client/intermediary.
  4. Co-ordinate with the outsourced card production team on preparation of medical cards
  5. Handling queries from walk in clients, brokers, agents.
  6. Follow through the reports required by client/intermediary within the expected TATs and SLAs
  7. Preparing policy documents and endorsements and dispatch of the same to the relevant client
  8. Support duties for fellow underwriters as directed by the Supervisor
  9. Ensure printing and dispatch of premium debits/credits and r schemes reconciliations.
  10. Familiarize with system to note it’s extremes and what needs to be adjusted
  11. Handle reconciliation of premiums where disputes arise
  12. Handle reconciliation of membership data to ensure accuracy
  13. Liaise with the product and business development teams to evaluate the products
  14. Organize and attend meetings with clients and intermediaries
  15. Handle renewal process and secure the schemes renewals assigned to the portfolio.
  16. Client interactions – to be able to deal with our customers face to face as walk ins or when we visit clients
  17. Investigation of issues, an ability to recognize trends of issues and where other processes are going wrong – being proactive in recommending solutions.
  18. The team member will be expected to take ownership and seek to resolve queries
  19. Support on premium and excess collection
