The Human Resources Business Partner will contribute to, and shape the work of the Human
Resource Department, comprised of talent acquisition, learning, performance, and policy. This is an opportunity to shape Anvil Shield Holdings Ltd’s approach to talent management and performance management.

Responsibilities

Job Purpose

The Human Resources Business Partner will contribute to, and shape the work of the Human

We are looking for an HR Specialist to work in talent management, with solid experience and expertise in Performance Management and at least one of the following areas:

This is an important role for us, in supporting the mission and strategy. The role will play a key role in shaping Anvil shield Holdings’ HR practices and moving performance management and its approach to career development to the next level.


Under the overall supervision of the Group Head of Human Resources, the main functional responsibilities will include:

HR Planning and Support

  • Formulating and implementing human resources strategies to support business plans
  • Developing talent strategies and plans to attract, recruit and on-board talents to meet current and future business needs

  • Implementing strategies to enhance employee engagement and productivity within the work force.

  • Structure and implement productive manpower plans at the lowest cost thus attaining profit per head ratio against the defined strategy roadmap

  • Proactively drive and support delivery of HR processes, engagement initiatives and issues that will ensure productivity and mitigate staff turnover driven by labor market environment.

  • Partner with the leadership team on functional business issues and organizational change, leading on planning specific HR strategies to meet business goals.

  • Act as a point of contact for employees, supporting management/supervisors with employee issues.

  • Support in implementation of HR policies and procedures.

  • Manage and support staff performance appraisals in partnership with respective supervisors.

  • Provide general support to the HR and Admin department and participate in ad-hoc HR projects as and when needed.


Performance management

  • Taking ownership of the performance management process design and management in Anvil Shield Holdings Ltd

  • Proactively lead activities around performance planning and evaluation advice.

  • Design and lead progressive initiatives around capacity building of workforce.

  • Provide communication material and design campaigns around Performance management

  • Acting as a pro-active subject matter expert for senior management and other

    relevant stakeholders


Career Development

  • Proactively shape the organization’s approach to career development.

  • Closely works with relevant stakeholders to ensure career development

    tools/practices are aligned with organizational needs.

  • Lead the development of relevant training opportunities and programs in close

    collaboration with the learning team.

  • Design, implement and oversee programmes aimed to support career development.

  • Lead the development of progressive and state-of-the-art career development

    tools and practices.

  • Provides individual career development support.


  • Talent management and succession planning

    • Contribute to shaping organizational approaches for talent management.

    • Contribute with the state of the art tools/practices for enhancing current talent

      management approaches.

  • Provide sound advice to senior management and other relevant stakeholders.

  • Any additional tasks as required to support the delivery of Anvil Shield Holdings

    Ltd mission and strategy.


  • Experience:

    • At least 4 years of relevant experience. The ideal candidate should already be working as an HR Specialist, with a proven track record in one or more of the areas mentioned
      above
      , a sound understanding of HR best practices, together with an open
      mind for innovation, while being focused on delivering practical solutions.

    • Demonstrated expertise in Individual performance management is required.

    • Practical experience in capacity development in the area of Performance Management is highly desirable.

    • Experience in the area of Career Development is a distinct advantage.

    • Practical experience in designing programmes and training material is an asset.

    • Experience with the Balanced Score Card Performance Management approach is an asset.

    • Performance-based rewards and recognition system experience is an asset.


    Qualifications and skills:

    • A Degree/ Higher Diploma (KNEC) in Human Resource Management/CHRP

    • Strong and firm understanding of the Employment and Labour Laws

    • Member of IHRM

    • HRMIS practical knowledge will be an added advantage

    • He/she will be operating under a larger group of companies under the umbrella of Anvil shield holdings reporting to the Group Head of HR.
