The Investment Analyst shall have the responsibility of supporting the Investment Manager in overseeing the Company’s portfolio of investments across three broad asset classes: Listed Securities, Private Equity and Real Estate.
Responsibilities
The Investment Analyst shall have the responsibility of supporting the Investment Manager in overseeing the Company’s portfolio of investments across three broad asset classes: Listed Securities, Private Equity and Real Estate.
Assist in implementing and overseeing the Company’s strategic and financial plan for the growth and development of its portfolio of assets.
Support the Investment Manager in monitoring the Company’s investment policy, asset allocation, risk management framework and performance measurement.
Support the Investment Manager in overseeing, coordinating and implementing strategic and tactical investment recommendations within each cluster of assets (real estate, listed securities, private equity) including divestitures and acquisitions.
Monitor and report on financial and operational performance of current investments: meet management of investee companies, attend investor briefings, review analyst research, quarterly and annual reports. Provide the CEO and the Investment Manager with comprehensive and regular financial, operational and management reports.
Support the Investment Manager in performing financial, commercial and legal due diligence, structuring and executing investments including preparing feasibility studies, doing market research, developing financial models. Provide support in managing the investment projects pipeline from start to finish.
Act as liaison with advisers, consultants and service providers (including brokers, agents, lawyers, tax advisers, valuers, etc.).
Monitor and report on financial markets performance, changes in macro-economic environment, tax, legal and regulatory frameworks, assess risks and opportunities and make recommendations to the Company to respond to these changes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Finance, Economics, Actuarial Sciences or other quantitative field.
Master’s Degree in Business or Finance will be an added advantage.
CFA charterholder or progress towards CFA.
Minimum two to three years’ experience in the fields of investment banking, corporate finance, portfolio or fund management, PE/VC investing, or equities research.
Ability to understand and evaluate company financial statements and accounts; strong financial analysis and modeling skills.
Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
Energetic and enthusiastic individual with the ability to work on their own initiative and independently with minimal supervision.
