Requirements
- BS degree in accounting or equivalent field
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Kenya or abroad
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience as an accountant, ideally in a technology driven company
- Detailed understanding of the Kenyan tax and statutory payments requirements (knowledge and/or experience working in additional African markets is a plus)
- Direct experience working with Quickbooks Online through prior role(s)
- Highly motivated, adaptable, self-starter who is committed to continuous improvement
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Strong attention to detail and zero tolerance for a lapse in financial controls
- Team player willing to jump in and support the team when needed

Here is what you will do:
- Support with the day-to-day accounting of the business to help ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately, timely, and in compliance with accounting standards
- Help ensure the books are reconciled and closed out in a timely manner each month
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, including tax and statutory payment requirements in Kenya, as well as potential new markets
- Support on projects to automate accounting workflows and reduce room for manual error
- Support with closing out financial year-end and annual audit preparation
- Contribute to a dynamic team and help support other team members as required
