Job Brief
Ensures all kitchen and laundry equipment are in good working condition at all times
Ensures that all systems and procedures are kept up to date compliant with the set-up standards
Controls of materials requested from the store by ensuring proper usage
Ensures that all health and safety regulations are followed
Complies with all systems and procedures as laid down by the Team leader/Maintenance Manager/Chief Engineer
Ensuring that quality and efficient workmanship is observed
Ensuring quick and permanent solutions are implemented to avert re-occurrences
Ensures periodic preventive maintenance for machines and equipment in Kitchen and the Laundry is in place
Ensure that section is operating in a safe, efficient, and orderly fashion by ensuring that proper stocks are kept
Planning and scheduling of maintenance of equipment without interfering with the normal operations and depending on the urgency
Carry out daily checks for Laundry and Kitchen equipment
Ensures that the preventive maintenance is done as scheduled
Updates self with working knowledge of HVAC/Electrical and MEP Installations
Ensures HACCP and OSH policies/standards are strictly adhered to at all times
All works are to be carried out as per the country technical regulations and safety standards. If in doubt, always consult the Supervisors
Ensures that the work done is according to the specified standards
Follows the preventive maintenance chart strictly and maintains records for future reference
Coordinates with other departments’ counterparts and ensures their satisfaction on quality and progress and creates healthy inter-department relationship
Knows the emergency procedures in the hotel and what to do in case of fire
Undergoes cross-section training of engineering department for capacity building
Knows all rules and regulations of fire and health and safety to be standby in case of emergencies i.e. power cuts, evacuations and related catastrophes
Informs Supervisor of any jobs that have not been done within current shift
Informs Supervisor any trends or regular items appearing on requests
Monitors planned maintenance against bar chart on a weekly basis
Communicates to Supervisors/Chief Engineer on the administration problems within the department
Maintains and operates equipment at optimum effectiveness, efficiency and safety
Ensures compliance with all Engineering departmental policies, standards and procedures
Inspect and evaluate the physical condition of facilities in order to determine the type of
work requiredMaintains accurate logs and records as required
Handles guest problems and complaints effectively while providing exceptional customer
service
Requirements
- Minimum of Advance Trade Test or Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or its equivalent
- Professional certification/development in relevant disciplines in engineering
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a hotel environment with proven track record
- Experience with repair and maintenance of Kitchen and Laundry equipment
- Experience in operation of BMS
- Ability to work and communicate in a multinational environment
- Good aptitude in trouble shooting
- Extensive knowledge of safety standards and protocols
- Hands-on experience in refrigeration and air conditioning
- Excellent communication skills
- Outstanding ability to interact and communicate with all stakeholders
- Outstanding ability to diagnose and resolve problems
