Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:
- Served in the grade of Laboratory Assistant I or in an equivalent position for a minimum period of three (3) years; AND Possess a Craft Certificate the areas of
- specialization from a recognized institution; OR Diploma in the Areas of specialization from a recognised institution
- Ability to use a full range of tools, machines and equipment’s in the engineering workshop/Computer Laboratories/ Applied Science or Catering and Accommodation
- Knowledge of basic Auto CAD/Arch CAD will be added advantage and
- Demonstrated computer application skills.

Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities will entail:
- Maintaining inventory for all tools, Machines and equipment’s in the workshop;
- Prepare preventive maintenance schedules of the items;
- Ensure compliance with both Statutory and Institute’s Safety Protocol regarding operation of workshops;
- support the smooth running of the departmental workshop/laboratory/Kitchen;
- Work hand in hand with the workshop practice lecturers when preparing materials for practical lessons;
- Maintain work area, tools/machines/equipment cleaners and proper operation
