We are looking for an organized and passionate individual help us set up our office from a People perspective. This role will be cross functional in nature and be a point person in Nairobi to look after office logistics, local legal requirements and people experience.

We are looking for an organized and passionate individual help us set up our office from a People perspective. This role will be cross functional in nature and be a point person in Nairobi to look after office logistics, local legal requirements and people experience.




Responsibilities

  • Working with the global Talent team to support with hiring, especially for roles specific to Nairobi.

  • Be the point person for the office logistics such as Health and Safety requirements, cleaning contracts etc.

  • Work with our Legal team to review our employment contract templates.

  • Partner with external service providers to ensure that the office is ready for usage by the end of June. (This exclude the outfit of the office, but includes the services that we need, such as cleaners).

  • Work on the People experience processes for our Nairobi colleagues. This all touch points from onboarding to off boarding.

  • Working with the global People team to establish and run HR processes and procedures that align with our global values but also localized to ensure they are relevant and appropriate for our Nairobi office. This includes owning the legal and contractual side of HR as well as payroll onboarding and ongoing people management.

Qualifications

  • You have 5 years of hands on experience managing People, HR, Talent or Operations.

  • You have exposure (ideally experience) working directly with Kenyan employment law.

  • You are knowledgeable about labor market best practices (i.e. how to attract great talent, how to setup create an attractive employment offering in Kenya)

  • You have working knowledge and experience of what how to build company culture using all the tools at your disposal from various internal comms (i.e. Slack), events (i.e. at the office) and through policies and processes.

  • Own People experience as it were a Product, with backlogs and feedback loop to iterate and improve.

  • You pride yourself on delivering excellent employee experiences.

  • You have experience working asynchronously with global teams using tools like Slack/Teams/Jira as well as other modern communication systems.

  • You are passionate about either our product and the mission that we are on.
