About the role

Key Accountabities/Outputs

  • Drive achievement of volume and financial targets in the region

  • Discuss and finalize sales targets and budgetary allocation with Head of Sales & Marketing and communicate to reports in the assigned region

  • Ensure timely submission of area implementation plans and budgetary requirements by sales representatives

  • Maintain & expand customer base by training and coaching area sales reps; building and maintaining strong beneficial relationships with key customers; identifying new customer opportunities

  • Understand market and competitor knowledge and use this to tap into competitor markets

  • Ensure policies, procedures and routines in the sales process are adhered to by the sales team in the region

  • Manage Performance-Plan and conduct weekly, monthly and quarterly meetings in the region.

  • Undertake performance evaluations and give feedback to the teams on a regular basis

  • Ensure team understands the company reward system and drive optimal performance

  • Initiate and drive mentorship programs to the regional teams

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of Diploma in Business required. Degree gives the added advantage

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in FMCG business in sales & marketing 2 years of which must be in a supervisory/management level

  • Demonstrated success in territory management and sales planning

  • Experience in building long lasting business relationships in the Kenyan market

  • Prior working experience in in the Milling Industry in Kenya is a plus.
