The Kings Pearl Centre was founded in 2011 with a Vision to see every special child with any form of developmental difficulty find a home where they can learn to discover who they are and in the process, achieve God’s given purpose for their special lives. We are a one-stop therapy centre catering to the needs of children living with developmental disorders and related learning disabilities such as autism, cerebral palsy, down syndrome, dyslexia etc. Established in 2017, We have developed our own learning and assessment system of addressing our pupils’ complex needs. Kings Pearl Centre promotes a shared understanding of each child’s needs by both education and therapy staff. We combine graded assessments, multidisciplinary monitoring and a child-centred planning process. Our programme has evolved over the years. It started from research then to incorporation into our learning curriculum. It has also influenced our neurological and physical development programmes. The customized curriculum; tailored to meet each child’s unique needs assesses the child’s development in the following key skill areas: Communication; Cognitive skills; Social and emotional wellbeing and Psychomotor skills. Teachers and therapists liaise to meet the individual needs of each child. Teaching staff are equipped with the necessary skills needed to encourage pupils to learn as they go through frequent routines within each school day, empowering them to mature.
