Qualification and Experience

  • A minimum of B.Sc Degree in Engineering or related discipline
  • A minimum of 12 years’ demonstrable reservoir-engineering experience in the exploration and production industry
  • Track record in field development planning/execution and wells, reservoir, and facility management.
  • A willingness to undertake frequent and sometimes extended visits to field locations.
  • Exceptionally good competency in reservoir modelling/simulations, WRFM, field execution and business planning
  • Strong skill set in analytical reservoir engineering.
  • Good knowledge of the estimation, classification, and reporting of resource volumes per industry standards such as Nigerian National Standard, Petroleum Resource Management System, etc.
  • Conversant with industry standard discipline software e.g., Eclipse, Petrel RE, navigator, Saphir, IAM, GAP, PVTi, PVTsim, MBAL, etc
  • Fluency in written and spoken English language.

  • Plan and execute RE evaluation and interpretation by integrating available geoscience and engineering data to construct robust reservoir models for optimum field development planning and management.
  • Assess, plan, design and supervise petroleum-engineering data acquisition (e.g., fluid samples, pressure survey, etc) by value of information for optimum field evaluation, development, and management.
  • Provide RE support for the estimation, classification, and reporting of petroleum resources per industry guidelines and relevant input for economic evaluations to maximize profits and minimize unit development and operating costs.
  • Contribute to the Business Planning process per production/injection forecasts, work programs, and budgeting. Ensure timely alignment and approvals of internal and external stakeholders (including partners, Board, NUIMS, NUPRC, etc.)
  • Ensure a world-class RE database that is third-party verifiable, including providing relevant inputs into E-well book, asset reference and other documents.
  • Construct and maintain fit-for-purpose 1D/2D/3D reservoir-simulation and integrated production system models.
  • Deliver RE scope of well proposals, well programs, end-of-well reports, data gathering campaigns, well intervention, etc. Ensure seamless integration with subsurface, well engineering, operations, and finance alike.
  • Drive RE scopes of well, reservoir and facility management (WRFM), field reviews, production-system optimization, etc.
  • Work out discipline-specific guidelines and procedures to ensure all work is carried out safely adhering to best industry practices.
  • Share knowledge with internal and external stakeholders, including coaching, refereed conference proceedings and peer-reviewed journals.
