Academic Qualifications

  • A University Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field is required.
  • A Postgraduate Degree (e.g., MA, MSc, MBA) in a relevant course is an added advantage.

Work Experience:

  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience in content strategy, content management, or a similar role within the media industry.
  • A proven track record of developing and implementing successful content strategies across multiple platforms.
  • Extensive experience in team leadership, with the ability to inspire and manage a diverse content team.
  • Demonstrated experience in partnership development, negotiation, and management.

Position Summary

  • The Head of Content Strategy at Nairametrics is a pivotal role responsible for leading the organization's content vision and ensuring its effective execution across all platforms, including the website, social media, reports, TV, and radio.
  • This role demands a strategic thinker who can set the direction for content generation, acquisition, distribution, and monetization.
  • The Head of Content Strategy will work closely with various departments to align content initiatives with the company's overall objectives, enhancing brand visibility and engaging our diverse audience.

Key Duties

  • Content Strategy Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive content strategy that aligns with Nairametrics' objectives, enhances brand visibility, and engages the audience across multiple platforms.
  • Content Generation and Acquisition: Oversee the creation and acquisition of high-quality content, ensuring it meets the company's standards and audience needs. This includes sourcing and managing relationships with content providers, institutional or corporate content partners, and freelancers.
  • Distribution and Monetization: Establish effective distribution channels for all content types while identifying and implementing monetization opportunities to maximize revenue.
  • Team Leadership and Management: Lead and manage the content team, fostering a creative and productive environment. Provide guidance, set goals, and evaluate performance to ensure continuous development and high-quality output.
  • Partnership Development: Source and develop strategic partnerships with content creators, media houses, and other relevant organizations to enhance content variety and reach.
  • Market Research and Trend Analysis: Stay abreast of industry trends, audience preferences, and technological advancements to adapt content strategy and maintain competitive advantage.
  • Performance Measurement: Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for content effectiveness, making data-driven decisions to refine content strategies and achieve business goals.
