JOB REQUIREMENTS

1. Ph.D. degree or Msc in Economics or other related fields from a recognized
University.

2. Sound experience of at least 4 years as a Research Economist, preferably in the
Financial Services industry, and experience in Capital Market and Social Development Economics.

3.  Demonstrated experience in preparing and presenting research papers for use by the financial services industry and an expert understanding of quantitative and qualitative
research methods, especially econometrics and operations research.

4. Ability to communicate and function in a culturally diverse and change oriented setting
with good knowledge of research practices in Capital Market;

5. Ability to interact with senior officials of international agencies, multilateral, banks, corporates, and governments and to present well-researched information trade-related issues to the Company’s Management and the Board of Directors;

6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English Language

7.  Knowledge of broad analytical techniques, such as statistics, econometrics, as well as
mathematical and operations research tools. In particular, the ability to analyze and draw reasonable inferences from the analyses of financial and economic data;

1. Leading the conduct of cutting research in economics, ranging from theoretical-methodological issues to applied economics touching on trade development and financial issues covering sectors such as commodities, agriculture, manufacturing, and services in the Capital Market.

2. Leading the consolidation and contribution to the enhancement of research methodology in the preparation of required studies in the areas of Equity Market – Shares/ Bonds trade, Finance and Economic issues important to the company as well as their policy and business implications;

3. Monitoring and collation of key economic data covering the globe, major trading regions, and Africa into suitably organized information to inform and guide the Company’s Policies and Operations.

4. Support project management and business development functions with senior guidance;

5. Conduct in-depth economic benefit-cost, cost-effectiveness, and life-cycle cost analyses;

6. Present methodological process and project findings to clients; and;

7. Conduct and support econometric statistical and forecast modeling;

8. Conduct and support economic impact analyses;

9. Lead the analysis and reporting of trends and technical assessments of markets tailored to Client needs and expectations;

10. Applying diversified knowledge of economic principles and practices, and independently making decisions on economic issues.
