Description
Qualification and Experience
- Minimum of Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE / WAEC / NECO / GCE).
Professional Certification
- Valid, certified Crane Operator License or formal vocational certification from a recognized industrial training or maritime regulatory body is an added advantage.
Desired Experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of active, hands-on working experience operating heavy-duty cranes within a maritime port terminal, heavy logistics yard, or industrial shipping environment is an added advantage.
Responsibilities
- Operate ship cranes for the loading and discharge of cargo.
- Lift, move, and position cargo safely between vessels and quay areas.
- Ensure prompt and efficient discharge of vessels to meet operational targets.
- Conduct pre-operation checks to confirm crane functionality and safety.
- Monitor crane performance and report any faults or abnormalities.
- Follow established lifting procedures and safety guidelines at all times.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors during operations.
- Avoid cargo damage through careful and controlled handling.
- Adhere to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
- Maintain operational logs and report activities as required.
