Qualifications and Skills
  • H.N.D or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience working in a power plant or similar industrial environment, with a focus on electrical systems and equipment.
  • Familiarity with standard safety practices and regulations governing electrical systems and equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and rectify electrical faults promptly.
  • Knowledge of computer software’s and reporting tools, email, and MS office
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ideal Candidates will be resident in Agbara, Ogun State or willing to relocate to Agbaraat their own expense.
  • Be Innovative, creative, hardworking, resilient, and self-motivated
  • Ability to work on shifts including Saturdays.

Job Description

  • We are seeking experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team at Paras Energy to work within our Power Plant facility at Agbara Location.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of electrical systems, with a focus on 33KV, 11kV VCB panels, breaker maintenance, wiring troubleshooting, maintaining checklists, generator fault troubleshooting, reading wiring diagrams and rectification.
  • The candidate will report to the Electrical Head and collaborate closely with other engineering and operational teams. Should have computer skills on MS Office and email writings for communication and reporting.

Key Duties

  • Perform routine inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting of 33kv, 11kV VCB panels, ACB, VCB, transformers, cables, and other electrical equipment within the power plant.
  • Conduct overhead line patrols to identify and address any potential electrical issues or hazards.
  • Develop and maintain checklists for regular equipment inspections and maintenance activities.
  • Execute breaker maintenance procedures, including testing, servicing, and repairs as needed.
  • Troubleshoot generator issues, diagnose faults, and implement appropriate rectification measures to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to ensure timely resolution of electrical issues and minimize disruptions to power plant operations.
  • Responsible for Power plant operation and maintenance.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times, promoting a culture of safety within the workplace.
  • Keep accurate records of operational parameters, maintenance activities, equipment status, and performance metrics.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks effectively and efficiently.
  • Strong knowledge of Medium voltage systems, Low Voltage system, transformers, ACB, VCB, CT, PT, Energy meters, Starters, VFD, Cable Termination and jointings and related electrical components.
