Job Overview

● First degree in Computing Science, Engineering, Operational sciences or (any other discipline with vital Information Systems component and/or relevant IT Service Management certification)
● Minimum of 2 - 4 years IT Operations experience and at least 2 years in server/storage administration and Management.
Desirable
ITIL and other professional qualifications will be an added advantage

Key Responsibilities
Monitor storage and Backup status using necessary Monitoring Application and tools.
Carry out all suggested Backup activities and maintain a consistent Backup schedule.
Achieve a 100%. Backup status.
Ensure proper functioning of all Backup and Storage drives under your purview.
Carry out Backup and storage Audits, periodically to ensure the Backups and storages are healthy.
Generate monthly capacity report showcasing the authenticity of our backup strategy
Ensures that the Bank’s data storage systems and the Storage Area Network are adequately managed and maintained
Monitor and enforce compliance with Storage and Backup policies bank-wide
Research and suggest improvement initiatives with regards to Storage and Backup activities/checks
Monitor and ensure the security of the Bank’s Backup/Storage
Ensures that data is backed up, securely stored, and made available in a valid form for Disaster Recovery purposes
Ensures that capacity is available on the storage arrays for various IT services
Monitors backup environment, including tapes and tape libraries, to ensure optimal performance and sufficient capacity levels
Administration and Management of Unix (AIX, Linux) and Windows operating systems
Skills/Competencies
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Good knowledge and understanding of banking operations
Good Knowledge of SAN Administration
Experienced in Storage management.
Good understanding of Backup, Restore, and Disaster recovery activities
Strong SAN Troubleshooting Skills
Good knowledge of Virtualization, Servers, and Networks
Vendor Management
Good understanding of Databases
Good understanding of various Operating systems
Generic Skills
Ability to make sound and logical security judgments.
Demonstrated leadership and personnel/project management skills. Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
Able to conduct research into issues as required
