Job Objective

Intense is building from scratch a finance & strategy team to steer the company through the next phase of growth. The Finance & Strategy manager is expected to act as the commercial brain of the company, driving Intense’s business planning process and identifying and measuring growth and profitability initiatives by acting as a strategic partner to key Business Unit heads and Heads of Departments.

You will also work with stakeholders to determine strategic initiatives to drive the long-term growth of the business and be responsible for modelling the impact of those initiatives. ● Understanding and influencing the underlying drivers of performance to help drive the top and bottom line

● Scenario modelling and business casing for multiple initiatives and layering this into financial planning

● Providing proactive, insightful, high quality analysis to support decision making (e.g. pricing)

● Partnering with the various teams to formulate and appraise appropriate strategies for their respective areas and support delivery of the overall business strategy and long-range plans.

● Business Planning: Lead strategic and financial planning processes (e.g., Monthly Reviews, Forecasts, Annual Budget, and Long Range Plan) assisting with decision making regarding resource allocation and prioritization.

● Build and own financial forecast models, including scenario and in-depth ad hoc analyses;

● Financial Insights: Help department owners and the Leadership team by developing frameworks to gain deep insights into revenue and margins

● Business Cases: Identify, drive and measure growth and profitability initiatives including setting pricing, improving margins, acquisition targets, large deals and contracts;

● Act as the Finance Business Partner with the Account Management teams and collaborate across all levels and business functions

● Evaluate business performance; report and analyze the performance; identify any risks or opportunities associated with reported financial data

● Regularly partner with business functions (e.g. Media Planning and Buying, Operations, HR and Admin) to analyze and report on the financial impact of decisions across the company


Job Requirements

● Advanced complex financial modelling and analytical skills (advanced Excel required)

● Experience influencing stakeholders at various levels, especially at C-level

● 3+ years of data analysis in a strategic or commercial role (would suit someone who has experience working in advertising agency, digital agency, high growth enterprise or startup technology Company)

● Excellent commercial acumen

● A problem solver with the ability to effectively articulate findings

● 5 to 7 years of experience in Advertising or Digital Agency.

● Strong quantitative and technical skills including complex financial modelling and data analysis and visualizations using tools such as SQL or MS Excel.

● Robust working knowledge of accounting and financial reporting standards;

● At least a 2:1 in Finance, Business or Economics degree from a top university

● Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to make a good business case and convince people to help you execute

● Consistent track record of success and career progression

● Exceptional judgment and maturity, including an ability to execute independently and work with team members of all levels

● Experience leading, developing, and growing a team

● Familiarity with financial planning processes and business systems
