Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs engine room watch with the Engineers
  
• Cleans and maintains the Engine Room;
  
• Helps maintains and repair engine;
  
• Repairs and welds deck and engine part;
  
• Assists the First Engineer in the management and maintenance of the engine room and its machinery;
  
• Recommend to the First Engineer the work allocation for each engineering personnel;
  
• Records all work done at the Engine Department;
  
• Ensure that all accessories and tools under his care are in good running condition;
  
• Performs navigational and anchor watch;
  
• Familiarizes himself with the handling of various machinery and equipment parts as well as the maintenance of tanks and pipe valves;
  
• Reports to his superior office any defect found in any machinery and equipment under his custody;
  
• Perform such other functions as may be assigned by his superiors;
