Description
- HND / B.Sc. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related fields
- 4 - 6 years experience in automobile repair and maintenance, with 1 - 2 years in a supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of vehicle systems (engine, transmission, electrical, suspension, braking systems)
- Experience using computerized diagnostic tools and equipment
- Ability to lead and manage a team effectively
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Good communication and reporting skills.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily workshop activities and ensure timely completion of vehicle repairs and maintenance
- Perform advanced diagnostics on mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle systems
- Assign tasks to technicians and monitor work quality and productivity
- Inspect completed jobs to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for various vehicle types
- Troubleshoot complex faults in engines, transmissions, braking, suspension, and electrical systems
- Maintain accurate service records, job cards, and maintenance logs
- Ensure proper use of diagnostic tools and workshop equipment
- Enforce HSE policies and maintain a safe working environment
- Train and mentor junior technicians to improve skill levels and performance
- Liaise with customers or service advisors to provide technical feedback and repair updates
- Monitor inventory of spare parts and coordinate with procurement when necessary.
