Qualifications & Experience
- The candidate must have a minimum of Bachelor’s Degree / HND in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of Six (6) years industrial mechanical maintenance and repair experience, two (2) years of which are in a lead role.
- Considerable knowledge of the practices, methods, materials, and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of HVAC equipment.
- Possess adept experience in the use of commercial natural gas, fired hydronic boilers, pumps, controls, and other ancillary equipment, chilled water HVAC systems, both constant volume and variable volume
- Extensive knowledge of building systems such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
- Knowledge of smaller systems designs or design modifications to larger systems.
- The Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor (HVAC Systems) will be responsible for all installation, preventive and post-installation maintenance, repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning units and associated air handling, chilled water distribution, and mechanical control systems.
The Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor (HVAC Systems) is expected to:
- Supervise major overhaul or installation of mechanical control systems to assure that work is carried out according to plans and specifications.
- Review plans and specifications for new construction to determine compatibility with existing equipment or acceptability of design.
- Inspect and measure building to determine airflow requirements; plans and draws layout and dimensions of ductwork.
- Conduct a quality check of work in progress or upon completion to assure acceptability.
- Schedule Preventative Maintenance and air conditioning installation assignments; examines installed air-conditioning systems to verify that system is functioning.
- Oversee repair and replacement of faulty thermostats, wiring and controls, and compressors.
- Support current improvement programs as well as implement and drive through sustainment any new initiatives as they relate to transformation to reliability and condition-based maintenance.
