Qualifications and Experience
Applicant for this post:
- Must be professionally qualified and be a practicing librarian;
- Must possess at least a Master's Degree in Library Science / Library and Information Science from a recognized University. Doctorate Degree will be an added advantage.
- The applicant must have a minimum of fifteen (15) years cognate experience, ten of which must be unbroken service in the University;
- Must have attained the rank of Principal Librarian in a University;
- Must have contributed to knowledge through research and publication in reputable journals:
- Must be a registered member of the Librarians' Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN); and
- Must have demonstrable competency in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
- The applicant shall not be more than Sixty (60) years at the time of application.
Conditions of Service
- The remuneration and other conditions of service are as may be determined from time to time by the Governing Council.
- The successful applicant shall hold office for five (5) years as determined by the Council.

The Position
- The University Librarian shall be responsible to the Vice Chancellor for the overall administration of the University Library, its branches and extension and for providing library services to the entire University community.
- The University Librarian is a principal officer and is the head of the University Library. The applicant for the post shall be visionary and have the ability to provide good leadership.
- He/She must possess personal integrity and leadership transparency in private and public life, as well as being able to command the respect and loyalty of staff of the University.
