How to influence people

Course introduction
Most managers assume that they will be able to influence others by the virtue of their authority. Even though this might be true in some cases, influencing by authority does not encourage others to change behaviours. Instead managers are able to influence the behaviour and performance of others through such techniques as collaboration, active listening and logic. In the end, it is individuals who choose to change their behaviours; managers cannot make them.
