Learn the basics of working as a Recruiting Consultant
A Recruiting Consultant performs the job formerly undertaken by a company’s personnel department by advertising positions, interviewing candidates and giving a short-list to the employer for further consideration. Recruitment consultants are responsible for attracting candidates and matching them to temporary or permanent positions with client companies. They work with client companies, building relationships in order to gain a better understanding of their recruitment needs and requirements.
As we'll see in this course, the role of a Recruiting Consultant is diverse and demanding. The job demands excellent communications skills both with client companies and prospective employees, a talent for headhunting, knowledge of advertising techniques, the preparation of CVs and the negotiation of salaries and benefits as well as regular reviews of client companies’ recruitment policies to comply with changes in employment laws.
By the end of the course, you will have learnt how Recruitment consultants:
- attract candidates by drafting advertising copy for use in a range of media, as well as by networking, headhunting and through referrals
- screen candidates, interview them, do background checks
- match the candidates to their clients
