Purpose : Oversee insurance claims based on coverage, appraisal and verifiable damage. Ensure complete and sound claim settlements, legal reviews and investigations in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Job Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Bachelors’ Degree in statistics or actuarial science is desirable.

  1. Diploma in Insurance.

  1. At least five and above years of work experience at managerial level.

  1. Proven experience in inspection and survey.

  1. Over three years of experience at management level.

  1. Good verbal and written communication Skills

  1. Computers skills in Ms. word, Ms. Excel and Ms.Powerpoint.

Key Functions (Broad)

  • Quality Control - Monitor and review the Department’s performance

  • Developing Policy and formulate direction and strategy for the Department

  • Advise the management on all claims Management matters.

  • Advice on improvement and creation of appropriate policy wording and documents ensuring that the documents protect the company by outlining proper terms and conditions

  • Continuously advise management of the Departments’ capital, training and personnel requirement

  • Providing Leadership in the Department, Manage, appraise and train Staff

  • Prepare Departmental statistics and reports and regularly carry out statistical reconciliation with other Departments

  • Organize Department meetings and ensure reports and proposals from Management and Department are implemented

  • Perform any other duties assigned by the management

Key Functions (Day to Day) Claims

  • Overseeing processing of Claims

  • Proper Checking and approval of documents and correspondence before dispatch to clients

  • Appointment of service providers.

  • Documentation of claims.

  • Recommending/ approval of claims together with other members of the claims committee.

  • Coordinating the sale of salvages.

  • Following up on payments.

  • Following up on third party recoveries.

  • Attending court on claim matters when called upon.

  • Responding to enquiries by the regulator and attending meeting at their offices when called upon.

  • Client/broker visits.

  • To handle any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
