Forest Guard

Job Purpose

To participate in controlling illegal forestry activities and ensure security of the forest estates.

Person Specifications

(i) Qualifications

• The Uganda Certificate of Education (O’ Level) or its equivalent
  

(iii) Competences

• Self control and Stress management;
  
• Ethics and integrity; Assertiveness and self confidence; and Time management.

i. Patrolling the forest reserves to detect illegal activities and apprehend culprits;

ii. Detecting and controlling forest fire outbreaks and other hazardous occurrences;

iii. Supporting productive activities in forest reserves;

iv. Participate in the enforcement of forest/ environment protection policies and regulations; and

v. Compiling daily activity reports and submitting them to the Forest Rangers of Assistant Forest Officer.
