Reporting to the Head Clinical Services, the purpose of this role is to assess patients' health and discuss which type of anaesthetic is suitable for them (general, local, or regional), administer appropriate anaesthetics before surgery, monitor patients’ wellbeing during surgery and provide care after medical procedures. The role also deals with emergencies in theatre.

Reporting to the Head Clinical Services, the purpose of this role is to assess patients' health and discuss which type of anaesthetic is suitable for them (general, local, or regional), administer appropriate anaesthetics before surgery, monitor patients’ wellbeing during surgery and provide care after medical procedures. The role also deals with emergencies in theatre.

Meeting with patients to assess their health and discuss which type of anaesthetic is suitable for them. That is, Evaluating the patients' readiness before surgery and addressing all there concerns in a polite manner
Preparing patients by explaining what will happen to them step by step and informing them of any risks or side effects. Monitoring patients during medical procedures
Close Monitoring and evaluating patients intra operative and immediate post operative period until stable to leave theatre
Preparing anaesthetic plans and Initiating anaesthesia in the operating room.
Reversing anaesthesia and managing postoperative pain and complications to assist patients in their recovery
Resuscitating and stabilising patients in a critical care unit
Collaborating with other health professionals, such as Surgeons, Theatre Nurses and Radiologists to ensure the wellbeing of patients
Writing reports and documenting the performed anesthesia assessments and care.
Keeping your work station clean, organised, well labelled and sterile
Attending duties as per the duty schedule
Manage complications that are associated with anaesthesia
Performing administrative tasks, such as writing theatre notes or patient report and reviewing cases and audits for improvement in patient cases
Manage stock in the theatre department to avoid unnecessary stock outs
Making wish lists for required theater sundries, equipment, medicines and other supplies for theater
Utilizing hospital sundries equipment, medicines and other supplies efficiently.
Proper mainatinace of theater equipment and filling the dairy checklist
Accounting for the theater sundries, equipment, medicines and other supplies
Training and mentoring junior medical staff.
Staying up to date regarding the latest medical developments and research in their field.
Working under minimal supervision
The ability to remain calm and collected under pressure and during crisis situations
A considerate and caring attitude to put the minds of patients at ease and provide the best possible care
Excellent observational skills to notice when complications or problems arise in sedated patients
Strong decision-making skills to act effectively during emergencies
Knowledge of emergency protocols and guidelines
Attention to detail to ensure that they administer the correct dosage of anaesthetics to patients
Training in Anesthesia; strong knowledge of anesthetics and procedures.
Must demonstrate a high level of professionalism
Demonstrate commitment to ongoing professional development and education
Must be registered with the relevant Governing Council with a valid practicing licence.
Working experience of 2-3 years and above in a recognized hospital.
