POSITION PURPOSE AND KEY RESULT AREAS:

This role will support in driving data-based decision making and highlight any risks/opportunities that may have an impact on business health or service delivery within the Supply Chain. The role has tactical planning responsibilities with focus on securely managing the short to mid-term plan within the framework of the optimal long-term product supply plan. The key result areas for the role include

  • Establish key performance metrics and benchmarks related to Planning and forecasting and manages all KPI reporting for supply chain to improve customer service and increase efficiency
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to secure a mid-to-long term strategic supply plan while balancing cost, inventory and customer service targets.
  • Demonstrate, lead and mentor a continuous improvement mindset and drives continuous improvement activities with cross functional teams.
  • Balance supply and demand, ensuring the production and shipping schedules are aligned to inhouse inventory levels and projected demand.
  • Prepare and present Supply Chain performance metrics against defined KPIs.
  • Build collaborative relationships with all stakeholders including Principal Country Managers, Commercial, Procurement, Logistics and Warehouse teams to understand drivers of performance gaps and highlight risks and opportunities.
  • Build and apply in-depth analytical tools to support issue resolution, decision making, and execution oversight.
  • Analyze data to maximize supply chain efficiency and minimize costs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or Operations Management plus 3 years working experience in a Planning function; or any other degree combined with over 5 years experience in Supply Chain Planning.
  • Experience in Pharmaceutical industry is highly preferable
  • Six Sigma Certifications, Supply Chain Certification and or training (APICS/ IBF)
  • High proficiency and advanced understanding in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proven analytical/quantitative skills including working with large datasets
  • Proficient in sophisticated analytics and data visualization software design and usage e.g., PowerBI
  • Must have excellent planning, organization, problem solving, negotiating, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, making the complex clear and compelling to all levels of the organization in both written & verbal.
  • Adaptable to meet constantly evolving priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Be a team player with focus on improvement and a strong drive for results
  • Must possess good analytical skills
  • Steps up and takes leadership to own challenges
  • Persistent and resilient when confronted with obstacles and resolves issues in a timely manner

Performance Area Sales and Operations Planning·       Develop a robust Pre-S&OP process with clear roles and responsibilities

·       Lead Demand Planning and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) Process

·       Chair Demand S&OP Meetings both at Country and Group levels

·       Responsible for S&OP adherence / compliance and driving continuous improvements

·       Ensure data integrity of both demand and forecast data

·       Handle forecasts in a high SKU environment using statistical software

·       Review forecast generated and provide input on changes that may be required

·       Responsible for achieving Forecast Accuracy (Bias)

·       Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify and incorporate market intelligence (events) and promotions into the demand forecast

·       Carry out the monthly forecast upload cycle and report forecast accuracy metrics

·       Analyze changes in inventory relating to supply, demand, events, and financial adjustments

·       Consolidate inventory projections and bridges for the different Principals and suppliers in the monthly Procurement file

·       Responsible for the hand-over of the replenishment plan to the Procurement Manager for execution

Inventory Management·       Define target inventory levels for different categories of products

·       Support stock replenishment plan based on validated forecasts or agreed parameters

·       Drive inventory optimization to achieve targeted gross inventory value and Days of Stock

·       Support and manage the inventory safety stock (SS) levels both at Warehouse and Branch levels

·       Monitor FG inventory across the pipeline (main warehouse, branch network, in-transit & on-order) and fine-tune their FG inventory norms every 6 months

·       Monitor slow and non-moving inventory and drive initiative to liquidate the same with respective sales teams

Process Improvement·       Identify opportunities for digital adoption and drive automation of existing manual processes

·       Develop resolutions and support in process improvement projects e.g., ERP.

·       Be process owner and project lead for some of the key processes for the function

·       Support the Supply Chain team in translating strategic concepts into easily understood practical solutions/recommendations supported by facts and data analysis to drive performance and enhance efficiency

·       Work with IT to develop BI reporting tools that promote data driven decision making as well as facilitate enhanced business process ownership.

·       Lead root cause analysis of variance against Supply Chain targets and metrics

·       Continue to evolve and build appropriate KPI’s to be tracked.

·       Report KPI’s to Supply Chain Leadership Team for relevant weekly/monthly reviews.

·       Preparation and presentation of analysis and reports to support budget setting and tracking

·       Maintain hygiene and integrity of master data (inventory norms, transit lead time, outdated forecasts / orders, potential expiry / expired stock, backorders)

Cost Management·       Monitor landed cost trends and investigate any escalation of the same
