The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying, securing, and/or managing relationships with organizations outside the company that help other key functions at the company achieve their respective goals. The Business Development Manager defines long-term organizational strategic goals, builds key customer relationships, identifies business opportunities and maintains extensive knowledge of current market conditions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree (Honors) in Commerce, Finance, Business Administration, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Product Design, Marketing and Sales or Related Field from a recognized Institution.

• Master’s degree in business administration, Management Science, Sales Management or in a Related Field from a recognized Institution.

• Continuous Professional Development Certificates in at least two (2) of the following areas: Innovation, Technology commercialization, Leadership, Management, Strategy, Business Modelling, Financial Accounting, Capital Budgeting, Organizational Behaviour, Teamwork and Negotiation, Marketing, Communication, or Project Management

• Membership to a Relevant Professional Body is an Added Advantage

•The applicant should have General Working Experience of at least Five (5) years. The applicant should have served in a Supervisory/Management Position in a Business Development related field in a reputable organization for at least Three (3) years.

• Market Research and Analysis: Conduct comprehensive market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive offerings in the different vehicle segments, with specific focus on the Electric Vehicle segment.

• Corporate Strategy: Develop and implement effective corporate strategies to promote the various KMC Products and Services, considering market demands and Corporation objectives.

• Business Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including potential clients, dealerships, and partners.

• Partnership Development: Identify and negotiate partnerships with relevant organizations, dealerships, and government agencies to enhance the distribution and adoption of Electric Vehicles.

• Explore Different Investment Opportunities: Define and apply appropriate study methodologies, utilize sound analytical tools and techniques, and apply accepted project planning and management practices on large-scale projects to ensure timely achievement of study goals and objectives.

• Administration and Management: Supervision and overall management of the Business Development Division and its activities, providing technical guidance, project management and leadership and performance monitoring.

• Skilling and Capacity Development: Lead, mentor, develop, coach, train and appraise personnel in the Business Development Division to help them be successful in their roles and to progress in their skills and abilities.

• Reporting and Analysis: Develop and implement Monthly Work Plans necessary for executing the above duties and responsibilities and Performance Reports detailing sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities.

• Any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
