Madi West Nile Diocese is the largest of the 37 dioceses of the Province of Church of Uganda, curved out of Northern Uganda Diocese in 1969. It is blessed with 12 archdea- conries, 150 parishes, 719 churches and over 80,000 Christians in over 13,000 house- holds. The diocese is bordered by South Sudan in the north, the Democratic Republic of Congo in the west, Nebbi diocese in the south and the diocese of Northern Uganda in the east. The Diocese is about 250 km long and 80 km wide. It covers Arua City and the districts of Arua, Maracha, Koboko, Yumbe, Moyo, Adjumani,Obongi , Madi Okollo, Terego some parts of Zombo.
