The Law Development Centre (LDC) was established by the Law Development Centre Act. Cap. 132 of 1970.
Under the said Act, LDC is charged with numerous functions. These are categorized into:
• Legal Training.
• Research and Law Reform.
• Legal Publications.
• Law Reporting.
• Community Legal Services.
LDC is under the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs and is one of the institutions under the Justice, Law and Order Sector (JLOS).
