About
Musana Community Development Organization is a community of social enterprises that is breaking the cycle of dependency in Uganda. These education and health enterprises include two nursery and primary schools, a vocational high school, a skill development and business training program, a hospital, a restaurant, and a guesthouse. Bringing economic and social development together, the profits of these enterprises cycle back into the community through outreach initiatives that comprise of education scholarships, rural health outreaches, medical assistance, microloans, and skills training to the most vulnerable. Musana’s projects are envisioned and led by a team of local leaders, employing over 200 full-time and 100 part-time Ugandans. In 2017, our social enterprises generated over 90% of our total Ugandan operating budget, allowing other donated funds to be invested in capital startup for infrastructure that the community will own, expand, and multiply.
