Position Title: Sales Executive- Toyota Forklift & Material Handling

Department: Vehicle Sales

Reports to: Sales Manager, Toyota & Commercial Equipment

Location: Namanve

Job Purpose:

The Sales Executive is responsible to drive our business growth and success in the Forklifts and material handling sector by implementing a strong and sustainable sales strategy for our world-renowned brand of Toyota Forklifts and material handling products that represent quality, durability, and reliability. Primarily, the incumbent in the role will be expected to develop and track new customer prospects, negotiate, and close sales opportunities while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

To succeed in the role, you need to be able to develop and demonstrate expert product knowledge, forge meaningful and lasting client relationships while anticipating and adapting to business requirements across a breadth of industries and verticals.


Job Knowledge, Skills & Experiences:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering, Business Management, Marketing, or related fields

  • At least 3 years experience in sales, preferably in the motor vehicle industry and/or in material handling equipment

  • Ability to listen, build rapport with customers and qualify their requirements.

  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to create and maximize business opportunities.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Valid driving license for commercial vehicles

  • Key personal attributes:

    • An individual who thrives on taking on new challenges and creating systems/opportunities from scratch

  • Demonstrated ability in consistently exceed sales targets.

  • A confident individual who is comfortable communicating to a diverse audience

  • Total honesty- can engage and share information with sincerity.

  • Active Listening skills

  • Proactive in getting things done.

  • Business ethics and integrity

  • Principal Accountabilities:
    • Achieve Toyota Forklift and material handling product sales targets while consistently delighting customers
    • Identify new business, qualify, and advise customers on Toyota material handling products that are best suited to their business needs.
    • Promote value-added products such as Repair & Maintenance contracts, Extended Warranties and Asset Financing.
    • Follow up inbound telephone inquiries, walk-in prospects and digital inquiries within response SLAs.
    • Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximize customer satisfaction and business profitability.
    • Consistently visit prospects and existing customers to ensure customer satisfaction, promote Toyota material handling products, maintain top of mind awareness and capture feedback per agreed visit and reporting targets
    • Serve as the lead point of contact for all matters specific to your client accounts.
    • Resolve conflicts and provide solutions to your clients in a timely manner.
    • Provide accurate sales, prospects, and order intake forecasts to support efficient inventory planning.
    • Maintain, at all times, an accurate and reliable customer database with information, amongst others, on your clients' fleet sizes, composition, TCO (total cost of ownership), renewal cycles and key contact personnel.
    • Leverage on available training to grow into an industry benchmark Sales professional, able to deliver a competent and enthusiastic presentation on all Toyota material handling products and their unique CVP.
    • Remain current on automotive industry trends, consumer shifts, and the impact of the macro environment.
    • Provide market intelligence on competitor products, activities, pricing, and recommendations on countermeasures.
    Key Challenges:
    • Speed of delivery on the customer promise is essential without compromising on Anzen, risk controls, quality, and sustainability of initiatives.
    • Leverage internal resources, get their buy-in and commitment to “customer first” culture amidst conflicting demands.
    • Ability to grow sales while steering away from corrupt and unethical practices.
