Required Experience & Skills
- 7 - 10 years’ experience in installation, maintenance and repairs of generators and electrical appliances
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair generator systems
- Experience with diesel and gas-powered generators
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Experience with preventative maintenance and inspection procedures
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and work in tight spaces
- Certificate in electronics and mechanics highly preferred.
- Fluent in the local language of the duty station
- Intermediate English skills (speaking, reading and writing) a must
- Demonstrated knowledge of electrical loads for proper sizing of generators and ability to design and complete generator installations
- Knowledge of material specifications and spare parts for diesel engines, alternators and control panels.

- The required candidate should be able to troubleshoot and repair alternating current electrical systems on generators, automatic transfer switches, generator controls and engine-related mechanical failures; and perform routine preventative maintenance, oil and filter changes and inspections on all generator and by-pass pumps.
