Of course, a mentor or helpful direct-line supervisor may come in handy with some nuggets of wisdom, but schedules can be an obstacle. This is why it’s good to be proactive when learning on the job. This may include taking some courses, reading books, or listening to relevant podcasts.
We all love a good podcast. It’s like a radio you can pause and listen to later! Plus, you actually get to choose the content you want to listen to, which is great considering there’s a podcast for literally everything under the sun (including the sun, I’m not kidding). Fortunately, there are categories to choose from ranging from health, education, culture, society, crime (my personal favourite), and business. Once you find a podcast you like, all you have to do is press play and learn on the go.
When you’re a manager it is important to always keep learning. That is what makes you a better leader. So you must embrace new information from any source with both hands. This is why podcasts are the perfect learning medium for anyone who wants to take in any new information.
