If you feel like your boss is grooming you to become better you will be satisfied with your job.

Do you get along well with your fellow employees? Or are you the kind who, when you bump into your boss, your shirt, or whatever it is that you are wearing, exposes the rapid beating of your heart?

The most satisfying jobs tend to give you a relaxed feeling and create a sense of autonomy. These satisfying jobs have some things in common, from the aura of the workplace, employees whom you enjoy working with and to the bosses who you admire and respect.

But how do you know if a job is satisfying? Here's how;

1. Company Mission and Goals

If the goals and mission of the company you work for align with your goals, then chances are that you will derive satisfaction from working for the company. Innately, it is an honor and privilege if you earn a living from work that shares your deepest values.

2. A Boss Whom You Admire

If you work with a boss who inspires and challenges you to become better, you will find yourself giving your best at the job. If the boss also values your time and input in the job, then your job satisfaction will soar.

3. A Boss Who Supports Your Growth

A boss should not be overbearing. If the boss acts more like a teacher or coach as opposed to being bossy, micro-managing or ordering people around, you’ll feel valued and will derive satisfaction from the job. If you feel like your boss is grooming you to become better you will be satisfied with your job.

4. Keeping Their Promises

Any job where the company keeps its promises tend to be a satisfying one. If a company keeps the promise of a pay raise or any other perks, for example, you are more likely to get satisfied with the job.

5. Colleagues Whom You Enjoy Working With

When you are working in an environment that is peaceful, and that allows you to use your abilities to the maximum, you’ll find yourself looking forward to going to work every day and that will give you satisfaction. Colleagues play an important role in creating a conducive environment for work. When you work well with your colleagues, you will feel positive and, consequently, derive satisfaction.
