Naivasha Water and Sanitation Company Ltd (NAIVAWASCO) was established by the Water Act of Parliament on (2002). NAIVAWASCO was incorporated on 8th September 2005 and started operations in 2006 with shareholding by the then Municipal Council of Naivasha.
Following the promulgation of the new Constitution, all the shares were transferred to the County Government of Nakuru. NAIVAWASCO is a registered private limited liability company wholly owned by the County Government of Nakuru as the majority shareholder, with mandate of providing water and sanitation services in Naivasha Sub-County and its environs on self-sustaining basis.
At cabinet level, NAIVAWASCO is represented by the Cabinet Secretary for Environment, Water and Natural Resources who is responsible for the general policy and strategic direction of the NAIVAWASCO.
